Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Swung by for breakfast with a family of 4, they were busy so we had to wait but not for long, had a seat within 10 minutes. The staff were busy but still quite friendly with some good humoured banter between themselves. We tried the truffle toast, which was ok, would've liked some more truffle flavour, and a traditional ham and macaroni breakfast set with toast, eggs and a drink. Pineapple bun to top it all off."
"A lowkey char chan Teng that sells pretty good food, the scrambled egg is super yummy and tomato sauce too, service was patient even if u can’t speak Cantonese."
"I'm a big fan of their Toronto/Markham location so I made a pilgrimage to the mothership. Was not disappointed. This place is classic HK cafe: from no nonsense staff right down to 90degree wooden seatback booths. If you're looking for an experience, come here. The food is regular HK fare. It's not fancy, it's designed to be tasty, filling, and quick. Macaroni in soup is done right: the macaroni was not overdone and al dente, and the soup was not overly MSG. Also tried their cheese sauce instant noodle with chicken. Pan fried chicken was fantastic and incredibly well seasoned, and the cheese sauce was interesting and surprisingly a good pairing. Would 100% recommend, for locals and tourists alike."
"Char siew egg rice was delicious. Eggs were soft and fluffy, but char siew was a little tough. Scrambled eggs and ham was good but average. Best scrambled eggs we tried was still at Australian Dairy Company."
"Discovered this hk style cafe from red notes (Xiao hong shu). Arrived around 10am+ and no queue, lots of empty seats, but filled up by the time we leave. Tried their scrambled egg and loved it, creamy and soft.the satay beef noodle was nice too. Lots of HK actor/actress visited this cafe too. Price was good. Recommended!"
"Highly recommended for authentic HK tea house. Had breakfast set with soup macaroni, and western set with bacon, toast and baked beans, and christmas set with truffle mac and cheese. All sets come with a portion of egg (can choose to have different form of egg, if not the default is scrambled) and bread. Seats by the wall are alittle cramp as seen in HK dramas. Pay by cash if do not have HK wechat/alipay."
"Retro deco & atmosphere with great HK Milk Tea. Truffle scrambled egg toast was good and eggy. But satay beef noodles was on the bland side"
"Staff are pleasant Food are great I ordered the strong flavor soup noodle with pork chop. Really good soup with tender pork. If you add the chilli powder please do it with caution adjust to taste and not assume"
